MAMAGOTO LAUNCHES PLAY WITH YOUR DRINK
Fresh off their Mumbai launch, Mamagoto's got a bunch of tricks up their sleeve to excite all the fast-Asian foodies in town. 'Play with your drink', their most recent in-restaurant activity, allows diners to play bartender; before taking to the food menu, make a custom drink for yourself from the comfort of your seat. A slip placed on each table has a "menu" to choose from - pick a poison, add a duo of flavours, then shake, stir or muddle it up, select a glass to drink your concoction in… and voila! The LBB crew spent a balmy Thursday afternoon shaking things up from this menu, and creating an orange, mint and Bacardi mix that we christened 'God Knows We Need This.' Our verdict on our custom drink? The lord answered our prayers.

DIMCHA & DAO
The latest entrants in N-block market, spread over two levels, are Dimcha and Dao. The former is an Asian style tea room serving dimsums and flavoured teas, the latter - a Thai fine dine. With a live kitchen downstairs, dim wood-paneled seating upstairs, and a fairly expansive menu, this duo could potentially be a crowd puller once they’ve ironed out some creases.
The Roast Pork Puffs are stellar, the Crispy Prawn Cheung Fun was a good attempt, but the Vegetable and Chive Dumplings were a letdown. Had a similar hit and miss experience with the mains – punchy Crispy Lamb in tamarind sauce and a fiery veggie stir fry in spicy basil sauce, but a very pale Pad Thai. The contagious enthusiasm of the staff made up for the average dessert and mocktails, but in all fairness, they did recommend the tea. Ideal for those looking for a swift office lunch or a break from shopping!

MOONSHINE CAFE
We don’t know how, where or when, but someone found {a lot} of space over at Haus Khas Village to open another bar. New kid on the block, Moonshine Café gets its name from the American practice of illicitly distilling alcohol. Not to worry, the drinks over here are perfectly legal and perfectly innovative -Gol Gappa Prawn Rasam Shot anyone? Massive by both HKV and regular standards, Moonshine stands out from its neighbours by virtue of its size, concept and cocktail menu. It has three different sections, a terrace, and two other areas {connected by a small passageway}, both equipped with their own DJ console and bar. You can expect two different genres of music between both sections, ranging from rock, house and techno, to live gigs and artists. Best news yet? You can choose between two different types of music on any given night, and thanks to those two bars, service is always efficient.
