The Union Culture Minister has announced that 10 specific monuments across the country, will remain open all the way from sunrise through to 9 PM. This means that if you're lucky enough to live in towns or cities with any of these monuments, you can actually head to them after work to take in their beauty. Or if you've got a friend doing a quick trip to the country, then the early closing time of 5.30pm will not hinder them if they are packing in plenty of things to do!
The 10 monuments you can catch at sunrise, and now sunset and beyond are the Rajarani Temple Complex in Bhubaneswar, Dulhadeo Temple in Khajurao, Sheikh Chilli Tomb in Thanesar, Kurukshetra, Safdarjung Tomb and Humayun’s Tomb, in New Delhi, the complex of monuments at Pattadakkal and Gol Gumbaz, both in Karnataka, the group of Temples, Markanda in Maharashtra, the Man Mahal, in Varanasi and Rani-ki-Vav, in Patan, Gujarat.
