Winning For

The endless menu with an exotic value that can’t be found in the city’s fanciest of hotels

Lowdown On The Ambience

Don’t expect anything fancy but the space here is divided into regular tables and chairs as well as rooms dedicated to a floor seating with a table in between set up for barbecue {complete with grills}. The staff is friendly and will even oblige you with a spot of babysitting if you happen to dine out with an infant.

What's On The Menu

We have already raved about Arirang here. But will continue further! The helpful menu comes with detailed explanations in English as well as handy pictures. You need to start your meal here with a barbecue. Try the Pork Barbeque Hot Sauce, thinly sliced pork brushed with sesame oil, cooked on a grill till beautifully charred and then to be eaten with a hot and sweet barbecue sauce, sticky rice and crunchy lettuce.

The barbecue is accompanied with bunch of typical Korean condiments such as kimchi, blanched greens, boiled soya bean, sweet and sour radish and more. The Gimbap is a Korean sushi, where beef, pork, chicken or veggies are rolled with dried seaweed and served cut into pieces.

Main Attractions

We love the spicy kimchi stew flavoured with fatty pork, dubu {a type of tofu} and crunchy green onion to be had with steamed rice. The Hot Stone Pot Dolsot Bibimbap is a gooey messy affair of rice {crisp and slightly charred at the bottom}, veggies and meats with gochujang paste {a hot red chilli paste}, topped with a fried egg and served on a hot sizzler plate. Ask the staff to mix up the Bibimbap for you for best results. There is also a separate section called Special Foods {much more pricey than the regular menu} where we have spotted Octopus {yes!}, Korean sausages and more.

So, We're Thinking...

The sheer choice, nouvelle cuisine and the fact that you can take away kimchi by the bottle, ready-to-cook Korean noodles, sauces and other condiments {sold at the counter} gets a thumbs-up from us.
