Give your home that invincible timeless look with Auraz Design’s curated ensembles which blend antique and modern pieces of furniture.
Get the look
Inspired by the thought of using vintage pieces for home decor, Nayantara Kochhar (originally from Kolkata) quit her corporate job to pursue the idea. And that’s how the online venture, Auraz Design, came into being in July 2015. But it’s not individual furniture pieces that you get to buy here. Handpicked and curated by the team (which includes design experts), you get to choose a whole look for your space. With a main original vintage piece of furniture as the highlight, the look will also have decor elements such as rugs, paintings and lamps, blending history and modernity (cost includes every item in the look). So, you don’t have to worry about finding matching additions to give your space that ‘caught-in-time’ makeover.
Currently sourcing from across the country, their collection includes dressers, bookshelves and Parsi pieces, among others. We love that they try to give you a clear idea about the history behind the antiques, so each piece has a story of its own. Creating looks for spaces like a drawing room, dining room, bedroom and a study, their designs are flexible and will fit just as perfectly in a 1 BHK apartment as in a spacious villa. So, think a dark rosewood chair from the 1940’s (with a colourful Phulkari cushion) paired up with a hand-carved Burmese teak dowry chest from early 19th century. Or, a dresser (a family heirloom from Kerala) with a modern straw moora stool. Functional yet elegant, no?
