Ten-second takeaway
Australia-based playwright, Lally Katz, brings to town her popular and acclaimed play, Stories I Want To Tell You In Person.
Stories of psychics
When Award-winning dramatist, Lally Katz, was given a commission to write a play about finance, little did she think it would end up being all about her professional and personal life. And, her obsession for psychics! But, that's just what Stories I Want To Tell You In Person turned out to be. The 80-minute performance, which first opened in Sydney (in 2012), is a one-woman show with Lally portraying the different characters.
True to life
As part of the five-city tour in India, the show (co-produced by Australia-based Belvoir St. Theatre and Malthouse Theatre, and directed by Anne-Louise Sarks) will be performed in Bangalore, this week. From Lally's experiences with a fortuneteller in New York to her career, imaginary friend and failed relationships, the semi-autobiographical play has a honest and funny narrative. Going by its popularity (having performed across the globe and gained much acclaim) and Lally's hilarious act, this one's definitely worth bookmarking.
