Fall, autumn, monsoon, super windy or whatever the current season be, there’s a fashion trend for it. But even fashion knows to leave apparel on the back burner because you’ll likely experience three seasons in three hours. So, what does one do? Well, pick up on accessories, naturally! And here’s how to stay ahead of the curve and crowd when it comes to nailing all this season’s accessory trends. Going by previous years, these are trends that will stick on through to 2023, and perhaps after as well.
Must-try Autumn-Fall Accessory Trends To Follow If You Want To Be Fashionable!
Micro Bags
Yes, they’re quite big in 2022 in general, but it took a while to get from the runways to the high streets. Sure Prada and Alexander McQueen are really take it up a notch, but so are H&M and Uniqlo. But you know what we love most? The fact that the homegrown brands are hopping on the trend. Honestly, we’d much rather give them all our love. So, here’s our pick of homegrown brands doing the micro bag trend, and how! Also, just remember that the micro bag trend keeps popping back up every few years, so don’t let go of these ones at the end of the season. Zoe Kravitz and Kylie Jenner brought them in again this year, and surely someone else will in 2023!
Statement Boots & Heels
Skip the stilettos and sky-high heels because it’s all about quirky heels, funky shapes and boots, y’all! From animal prints and block heels from Steve Madden to these thigh high ones on Nykaa, you can’t call yourself a fashionista and not have at least two pairs of boots in your closet. In fact, we spotted multiple kinds of boots — from chunky army style to dainty ones, here.
For quirky heels, check out these green ones. If those are too much for you, here’s a tamer version, courtesy Nykaa Fashion. For those who don’t quite want green (you can't really escape it this year, FYI), but still want to make a statement, London Rag has a beauty in red with textured, triangle heels.
Currently, however, our hearts belong to these patent leather loafer pumps by Charles & Keith. Available in grey, red and black, they blend three current trends — trapeze block heels, loafers and patent leather merch. You’re welcome!
Denim, Denim, Denim
OK, we cheated a little bit with this one. It’s the return of the denim, but not only as an accessory. But then again, as the Levi’s slogan goes, “Quality never goes out of style”. So bring out all those old-school baggy jeans, maxi skirts, mini ones and if you must, then those skinny ones too. But if you really want to kick it cool, then you’ll be wanting to buy/dust off those high-rise blue denims, the jackets and oversized shirts like you’re in the 1970s. While Levi’s 501 are the best for the trend, you might also want to check out these baggy, flared ones from Twenty Dresses by Nykaa, Vero Moda’s flared, cropped options and surprisingly, Zara’s collection of jeans. Zara also has fairly affordable jackets, though for jackets between INR 1,000 and INR 2,000, we found the collection from Miss Chase, the best. Oh, you’re too lazy to even shop these? Go, go to your H&M, they have it all.
Chunky Platform Soles
Chunky, flat and comfortable. Yes, please! This style is not for everyone, perhaps, but if you don’t mind ditching the dainty high heels, then go right ahead. Chunky, but not Dadcore, the sneaker effect on pumps, boots and even sandals is what is trending. Start things off with Birkenstocks (or brands like Birkenstock), or F21’s sandals. LBB favourites include these ones from Marcus Taurus, or these similar ones. For the real deal, be it platform wedges or flatform, check out the whole collection here.
Bucket Hats
Traditionally worn by Irish farmers and fishermen to shield them from the elements, this trend is back and how. While you may think it’s a boring trend, one look at the IG feed of celebrities like Rihanna, Cara, Justin Bieber, Ranveer Singh and even Alia Bhatt, and you’ll know it’s a hot trend. Plus, it’s Gen-Z approved. So, get with it, and rock the hat. Hair Drama & Co does a very chic tie-n-dye one, and Assignment amps up the glam. But for more options, check out our list here.
