Lowdown On The Ambience

Spacious and family-friendly, Bakasur at the Ascendas Park Square Mall is designed with both small and large groups in mind. Lined across a long curved counter, is the spread of the day, dozens of different types of lip-smacking veg and non-veg dishes. There’s also an outdoor seating for when the weather is not too harsh.

What’s On The Menu?

Whichever part of the country you’re from, you’ll find something from home. From momos and chaat to biryani and Kerala Prawn Curry, they’ve got most cuisines covered. We started things off at the salad bar, eventually agreeing that the spicy Grilled Chicken in a Salad Pesto Dressing was the best of the lot. Second was Steamed Prawns that we mopped up with a Mint Mayo Dip. While the prawns provided the texture, the flavour was all in the dip – a yin-yang dynamic that worked well.

Main Event

We loved the Afghani Murgh Tikka. Seasoned just right, the meat melts in your mouth and has a particular zing to it that makes it a stand-out dish. The Kalonji Paneer Tikka also deserves a mention. Try the Mutton Rogan Josh – succulent meat in a luscious gravy that goes great with both naans or rice {pick from plain, biryani or pulao}. There’s an assortment of vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries on any given day to make it king-size.

For a lighter meal, check out the live dosa counters and the DIY pani puri section. For dessert, we preferred the hearty Banana Halwa and the delightful Gulab Jamuns. All that eating can leave you quite full, and that’s where the Jal Jeera comes in. Refreshing and with a bit of zing, it’ll help you get over the post-lunch-slump in a jiffy.

So, We’re Thinking…

Bakasur is ideal for large groups {we are thinking office farewells or family get-togethers}, with it’s varied menu and seating options. Or if you want to take the LBB Crew out too!
