The Bangalore Literature Fest {BLF} is back again for it’s fifth annual edition, and we’re super excited about all the panels they’ll be hosting. From discussing the British Raj with Shashi Tharoor and Sanjeev Sanyal, to a fantastical puppet performance by Varun Narain, this years panel has a great diversity of topics and speakers for both adults and children alike. The kids sessions will be happening alongside BLF’s adult ones, so drop your kids off to any of these if there are some sessions you want to catch yourself!

On top of these sessions, you’ll want to catch the numerous art installations, as well as performances from the likes of Lewis Foundation of Classical Ballet, who will be performing excerpts from The Nutcracker and Cinderella. There will be an additional ballet performance by Verdi’s Tarantella, an all-kids ballet company! Originally published in the Kannada language, it has reached critical acclaim and has now been translated to English by Rashmi Terdal, who will also be a part of the panel. They will also be joined by gender activist Rōmal Lāisram, so you know this panel of experts will delve deeply into this sensitive topic.

Elephants and Literature for Children

Author and wildlife enthusiast Vasudev Murthy {Sherlock Holmes: The Missing Years} and noted ecologist Surendra Varma will discuss the role of wildlife in literature, and the role authors play in raising awareness on the topic. The event will feature a 15-minute quiz for kids, as well as an informative short film on the matter! It's the perfect way to raise awareness amongst your kids about animal conversation and ecology.
