'Everyday is a picnic when you're with your friends'. Bannerghatta National Park
Picnic instantly comes to mind when we think of Bannerghatta National Park, obviously 'cause as kids we've had one too many excursions here with the fam. It's now time to recreate those moments of basking in the glorious sun while you enjoy the wildlife and biodiversity. What do ya know? Recreation and education do go hand in hand here.
Distance from Bangalore: 20 km approximately from the center of the city.
Lalbagh Botanical Garden
Gorgeous blossoms and great Bangalore weather, aah! We can see ourselves letting loose here with fun company and delicious food. One would imagine the sultans revelling in a spot like this, after all Lalbagh is fashioned after the Mughal gardens. Sounds like a fine picnic, doesn't it? If you're done taking in the view of the flowers you can move to a spot by the lake with the gang.

Wonderla
This would be a playful picnic! But, but, you can choose to forgo getting onto every ride or slide and maybe enjoy only a favourite few before settling down onto a cosy blanket while eating chips and hummus. Wonderla really gives you the option of swinging between a power-packed few hours to lazy lounging and this doesn't really sound too bad for a picnic, tbh.

Nrityagram
If you're a group that appreciates art through motion, definitely step inside the Nrityagram campus to experience dance in nature. This space is a beautiful combination of a modern gurukul, a dance village, and a center of art. What makes it ideal for a picnic is its serene location that is dotted with greenery for as far as the eye can see. The Hesaraghatta Lake is quite close too, just saying.

Cubbon Park
Hear anyone say Garden City and our brain begins to paint a mental picture of the gorgeous Cubbon Park. This green heaven bang in the center of town is our very own showstopper of a picnic spot. Get you a bunch of buds you've been dying to see, some home cooked food, shades and a few books or frisbees and you're sorted.

Hesaraghatta Lake
We did hint at this spot earlier only because picnicking by this lakeside is just a treat! You can take long walks here too and buy snacks from stores nearby (just don't litter the place). Tranquil vibes, scenic beauty and some good company, day well spent, we think!

Silver Oak Farm
The country life is calling you at this organic farm located at the foot of Nandi hills! Chill to glory while you take in the magnificent view of the hills and green plains. You can also walk around the farm, educating your friends about the farm life you may want to consider in the future, away from the mad hustle of the city.

Ulsoor Lake
A haven for nature lovers and picnickers, Ulsoor is where you should head the best of both worlds: greenery and water. Once you guys are done sunbathing and gossiping hitch a boat ride to enjoy the lake in its entirety.

Lumbini Gardens
On the banks of Nagawara Falls is this vast public park that has all the ingredients for a perfect picnic. The garden is lush, well-maintained and has fountains dotting it throughout. You can take a walk by the lakeside or go boating. If you're a lazy gang that has not packed their own picnic food, you can order off the eateries here.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium
You and the squad are bound to feel like kids again at this spot. Here you can unwind and enjoy the sunset, take a stroll or go stargazing. We suggest going on a weekday for a more peaceful picnic.
