A cook’s tour

A Bihari by birth, Dolly was raised in the tiny hamlet of Kalimpong in North Bengal. She credits her Bihari roots and her Bengali influences {courtesy Kalimpong} as inspirations behind her quintessentially Bihari pop-up style travelling cafe. Dolly {who is from Mumbai and a home chef} is making her foray into Bangalore by holding a pop-up at Slurp Studio where she is calling out to all homesick Bihari in towns, and those who will go anywhere for good food {like us} to try out her full-blown Bihari meal.

Pop goes the meal

The pop-up called Khana and Batiyana {eating and talking in Bihari}, will see Dolly offering Littie, a traditional Bihari dish where a spicy gram flour mix is stuffed in a dough nd then cooked along with Aloo Chokha, Bagan Tamatar Chokha , chutney and ghee. This will be followed up by Bharwan Karela {stuffed biter gourd}, Sarson Machli {fish cooked in pungent mustard and tangy tomato gravy}, Kalonji Baigan, Khada Masala Chicken {chicken cooked in whole spices}, and Ghee Halua {halwa} among other quintessential Bihari fare.
