Ten-second takeaway

Ring in the new year with a new hobby at this Traditional Quilting Workshop.

Weaving in

Go ahead and sign yourself up for something different this new year. BuDa Folklore {an organisation dedicated to folklore research and folk culture, based in Honnavar, Uttara Kannada region} is back with the fifth edition of their Traditional Quilting Workshop. A perfect chance to unleash the inner quilter in you, we think. While you try to master the techniques and patterns of the art under the guidance of Nirmalakka {a master artisan from Haliyal}, you also get to learn more about its heritage and traditions.

Bonding over quilts

Limited to 12 participants, the three-day workshop is open to students as well and will be hosted by Savita Uday {one of the founding directors of BuDa Folklore} at her home. More than just an activity, the event focusses on letting you bond with the others in the group, creating some special memories and sharing stories, and all this while you are busy quilting away. Come lunchtime, you might also get to experience a spot of community cooking with your new-found friends. If that sounds like a great way to spend the first weekend of 2016, we suggest you hurry and book a spot right away!
