Bunkyard Grooves

Bunkyard Sri Lanka is located in central Colombo,  in close proximity to all commercial and tourist locations. The building is made up of all recycled and upcycled materials, locally sourced and so Bunkyard does their bit for the environment as well. The facade is inviting and appealing, and calls you inside. At the entrance, don’t forget to look above you at the Tuk Tuk {yes, you read that right} which has been used as decor and the pretty foliage surrounding it. The entire hotel is based on the concept of a junkyard with bunk beds, and this place is just oozing with quirk.

You find something new here every day, and here you can make new friends, along with your old ones. It’s like you’re sitting in the world’s cleanest and best-looking warehouse when you enter the common area. You can play board games, chat or just relax with a book. They’ve got some cool pipe art as well, with plants and even funky light fixtures inside. Wall murals, sculptures made out of waste, art all along the walls, that’s Bunkyard for you.

Cheap And Best

You can get private rooms or bunk beds {single and double} here. All rooms come with attached bathrooms and the common bathroom is straight outta a grunge rock music video, but very clean. The beds come with attached plug points and clean linen, along with lamps. The hotel has free WI-Fi and breakfast too! There’s a common dining area, with crates, benches and barrels as seats. The private bathrooms have bathtubs too {this is the affordable luxury, at its finest} and now that we’ve started talking about Bunkyard, it’s difficult to stop. They have 4,6,8 and 12-bed dorms, some exclusively for women. A single bed can be booked for as low as INR 700.
