Only in Bangalore, will beer being allowed to be sold as takeaway make the entire city thrilled! And thank goodness for that! In what is being called an experimental activity, the Karnataka Government and the State Excise Commissioner has allowed standalone microbreweries in Bangalore to sell their existing beer stock as takeaways from Thursday, May 14 to Tuesday, June 30. This is in addition to the government allowing pubs and bars to sell their alcohol stock at MRP prices

Some of the microbreweries across Bangalore that have opened their doors to the public for beer takeaways include Arbor Brewing Company, Toit Beer Company, The Biere Club, Windmills Craftworks, Biergarten Kitchen & Microbrewery Koramangala, Red Rhino, Xoox Brewmill, Stories: The Brewchapter, The Pump House, The Druid Garden, ShakesBierre, Brahma Brews, By The Peepal, Alchemy, Arena Artisanal Brewkitchen, Communiti, Aurum Brew Works, and The Bier Library. You can check out the places to buy growlers in Bangalore here.

As per the rules by the government, the microbreweries and customers will have to follow measures such as social distancing, cleanliness, usage of masks and sanitisers. Moreover, you can only take away a maximum of two litres per person per day in growlers, that are either glass, ceramic or stainless steel containers. Microbreweries located inside the containment zones will not be operational during this period.
