Started off over 40 years ago, the annual United Christmas Bazaar is back to kickstart the season of sharing. Charities and home entrepreneurs are joining hands to help you get Christmas-ready with festival-themed decor and handicrafts. Table linen, T-shirts, jams, jellies, pies, cookies and cakes are on sale too. And remember, the more you shop and eat, at the day-long bazaar, the better you can help someone in need.

Experience Christmas the North East way, this time around. Organised in aid of Northeast Helpline, the afternoon to night festival is all about food - homemade cakes, snacks and succulent meats are all part of the menu. The evening also includes carol singing and a candlelight memorial.

Fun, food and games await you at the Christmas carnival at this local school. The kiddies can head out to a dedicated play area while you browse through book and handicraft stalls. When you are hungry, you can munch on a three-course buffet dinner, or buys plates of kababs, cakes, and cartons filled with popcorn.

This one is exclusively for the kiddies. The tiny-tots gather around the Christmas Tree for a storytelling session by The Storywallahs followed by potting plants for a cleaner, greener festival. A little elf tells us that there’s also going to be an early visit from Santa and plenty of goodies to take home.

The Silver Bazaar at Royal OrchidSource: The Swinging 60's Silver Bazaar
Hosted by The Silver Surfers Club, a platform that showcases people who have retired but are still raring to go, The Silver Bazaar is a great place to pick up gifts and goodies for Christmas. You’ll find stalls, run by the Silver Surfers, selling everything from one-of-a-kind dresses to ethnic block prints, and silver and beaded jewellery. You can also scoop up delicious jams, preserves, cakes and bakes. The added bonus is the LBB Crew will also be around.
