Ten-Second Takeaway

Vroom into the city’s latest bar for a spin around the dance floor and a sampling of their bar treats. We have a feeling that the folks at the nearby Manyata Tech Park are going to love this one.

Winning For

There’s plenty of well-made starters to pair with your tipple and the fact that this part of town {finally} gets a spiffy watering hole with a dance floor.

Lowdown On The Ambience

Touted as a garage bar, this compact space is all about grey walls, dim lighting, and wooden chairs with steel piping framework. There’s a dismantled Royal Enfield on the wall that makes for a good selfie spot. The dance floor is a rather tiny here so you may find yourself shaking a leg close to your table itself.

A Mountain Of A Drink

We went ahead with Madras Bull, supposedly a tangy concoction with vodka, tomato juice, tamarind, chilli, and Indian spices. What we got however was a Bloody Mary with cumin floating around in it and making it bitter. Thankfully, The Himalayan came to our rescue. Made with three different spirits and topped with Blue Curacao, it’s got a hint of ginger and lemon. It makes for a potent and yet refreshing drink and is a great pick for a night out on town.

The Starters Parade

We paired our drinks with the Green Chilli Beef — crispy slices of tender meat tossed up in scallions and chilli. This was our favourite for the night and we couldn’t help repeating the order. The Bacon Wrapped Prawns too were a hit. The prawns were plump and juicy and the bacon did its bit to add smokiness and meatiness to the dish. The crunch of the Crumb Fried Chicken too was a palate pleaser.

Sugar High

Unfortunately, the mains were a letdown. The BBQ Chicken Sandwich was way too bland and the bread dry. And while the meat was cooked to a lovely tenderness in the Grilled Chilli Pork Chops, the date sauce that accompanied was overly sweet. Redemption though, came in the form of the Checkered Cake. Coated in chocolate, we lapped up our chunky slice in seconds.

So, What We’re Thinking…

Stick to the starters and dessert here and, for now, pair it up with mugs of beer or your tipple of choice. Weekends might see you fight for space on the dance floor.
