Making a pitstop in Bangalore, after Chennai, Hyderabad and Gurgaon, brings with it cafe food, cyclist vibes, and a chill place to unwind at even if you’re not into cycling…yet.

Ride On

A few doors from the LBB office, we’ve seen this place go from the carnival-esque Habanero to the empty building, to the swish cycle-themed cafe that Ciclo is. Right from the classic monocycle that stands outside {photo opp, y’all!}, to the impressive rows of bicycles along the walls which you can buy, this one isn’t just a themed cafe, it is a cycling cafe; a place for like-minded cyclists to meet, plot their next ride, just check out the new gear and grab a coffee {alcohol coming soon}, and some good hearty food. Oh, and rock music across the ages! So, much win.

But it’s also that place for the person who has never cycled, to enjoy the interesting decor — think wheels for lamps, seats forming patterns on the wall, and roller chains dangling from wheels rims to make for pretty chandeliers, load up on everything from Telangana Mutton and Bombay Vada Pav to Grilled Kasundi Black Pomfret and hand-tossed pizza.

Eat, Cycle, Repeat

We started things off with Mushroom and Broccoli Onion Rings with wasabi mayo. A great creation that is crunchy and goes well with the piquant hit of wasabi. Next came the Kaffir Lime Chicken Tikka — a refreshing and tangy version of the usual tikka. The quinoa, beetroot and orange salad retained its individual flavours, but also came together very nicely. They have sandwiches and wraps in various shapes, sizes and fillings {including leek fondue, smoked salmon and chipotle chicken}, if you’re looking for a lighter meal.

Want something substantial? Pick from pizzas, Sri Lankan and Indian curries, or a hearty burger. We tucked into the earthy Ciclo Full House pizzas which came loaded with peppers, olives, sun-dried tomatoes and mushroom. Chicken rubbed with black pepper and chilli was a bit bland, and tough, but the cheese curd, gravy and wedges were killer. We’re eyeing the Telangana Mutton Curry, Dhansak and Scottish Salmon for the next visit.

Best For Last

Leave room for the delectable flourless Chocolate Fudge and the boozy Mud Pie — in fact, skip the mains in favour of a dessert order, or two. Tea and coffee is a pleasure to have here, and mostly for the cute little bicycle that the sugar comes in. Go on, plan that long overdue catch up with your mates. By the end of the catch up, you’ll have rented a bicycle, bought yourself some cycling accessories, and setting an alarm clock for Sunday 5am to ride up Nandi Hills.

They’ve also just kicked off a serious breakfast menu which we can’t wait to try.
