Picture this. You're on a double-decker cruise boat that is gently floating atop serene waters, the aroma of fresh seafood in the air, and a light breeze ruffling your hair. Sounds amazing, doesn't it? That's exactly how it feels when you're at the Cruise And Dine, a boat-restaurant in Mangalore.
Located at the old Bunder Port, we'd recommend this cruise boat for group outings. Just be mindful of the steep flight of stairs when you reach there because climbing up is nothing short of an adventure. At the top, you'll find plastic chairs and tables lined against the sides. You'll also get to meet JP, the owner, who will run you through their menu for the day. When we went, we found options like fish, prawns, squid, oysters, and crab, to go with the traditional boiled rice, prawn curry and dry shrimp chutney!
As your order comes along (which, by the way, is super-fresh, well-spiced and delicious), don't forget to take a sneak peek at the bottom level. Fishermen, cooks and wait staff will happily greet and chat with you as they continue about their work. The bottom section also has an AC room, where you can host private parties. Alcohol is not served on the boat, but if you get your own, JP will let you roll with it.
