Meghalaya To Bengal: This New Restaurant On Lavelle Road Is East India Represent

If you’ve been to Kolkata, and you have not been to Koshe Kosha, then you’ve missed out big time. They do some seriously good Bengali food, and there’s no arguing that. And of course, Koramangala and Bellandur soon got their own outlets in Bangalore, and we’re still fans. But lo and behold, as they’ve been at the drawing board again, and now you can officially say hello to EatWater, the brand’s {Proem Hospitality} foray into the casual dining space. Set on Lavelle Road, opposite Sunny’s and where numerous eateries including Shezan and Khusboos once were, EatWater will be a representation of the North East. You can start celebrating.

Focusing on Meghalaya, Orissa, Assam and predominantly Bengal, the menu is a set course format, and you can pick one dish from each course for INR 795 for the vegetarian option and INR 995 for the non-vegetarian version. Of course, there is The Kosha, which is succulent pieces of mutton, slow-cooked in spices, and has to be had. The menu also has Kukkuda Soria, a chicken dish from Odisha, and malai kebabs. Vegetarians can pick from cauliflower, green peas curry in a Bengali style, potato curry and bitter gourd with spicy banana blossoms. And we’re saving the best for last as we cannot wait to try the Shukto Mousse with fried lentil dumplings {that’s bori, y’all!}. Dessert includes mango and date palm cheesecake, tender coconut cheesecake, and cannelloni stuffed with sweetened cottage cheese.
