Everywhere you look now, it’s all about being organic and eco-friendly. From being a hipster trend, it’s really catching on with the masses. And thankfully so, seeing as the benefits are rather helpful to the community at large. But we’re not all born with green fingers and nor do we know how to go about this very well, do we? Enter A Green Venture – an eco-enterprise as they say, which will help you go green too! Here’s why we love them.

Be A Farmer For A Day

Whether you’re a family looking for a fun and educational day out, a company that’s looking to go organic or even a school, they’ll set up an interesting day at an urban organic farm. We love that the farms they’ve tied up with are not too far from the city, and that the farmers are all retired corporates who’ve adopted the farm life. The day kicks off with a tour of the farm, an introduction to urban farming, sampling of the produce, working hands-on to learn tricks of the trade and of course, three wholesome simple means that are directly from farm to fork! Who’s in?

Learning The Sustainable Way Of Life

OK, so maybe you’re a total city trooper and farms are not your thing. No problem, these guys will teach you the green life in your swanky urban city. From helping you curate your kitchen {think garbage to garden workshops} and even a 101 on how to grow your own fruits and veggies at home. Plus, an introduction to candle-makers, potters and décor experts to ensure you’re completely on track.

Interactive Farmers’ Market

Not only do they bring you’re the produce of about 10 farmers across South India, but they will involve you in creating things like a wall made from waste material. Of course, there’ll be plenty of plants {ideal for cooking or otherwise} to pretty it up, because when eco-living becomes your lifestyle, you will want to go all out.

Earth-Friendly Hampers

Oh don’t we love ourselves some pampering. And their cutesy hamper {INR 2,500 upwards} does just hat. Loaded with products handpicked and sourced from remote regions and grown or in traditional homes, you’ll find honey{Kaigal wild honey}, tea {Muskotia rose hip tea from Nainital}, coffee, spices, and plenty of useful kitchen ingredients in here. Plus, skin and hair care merch like essential oils, citrus scrub, hair oils. Oh! And candles!  Price: INR 1,200 for the farm visits {including three meals and transportation}; INR 2,500 upwards for hampers.
