Cecilie Bahnsen made this a trend a few years ago at the 2019 Fashion Week in Copenhagen, and we’re in love with it. Not only is it feminine and edgy, but it really is a comfy look that is timeless. Marked by a mix of flounce and simplicity, volume and sculptural silhouettes, her style is easy, breezy and classic. While you may not be able to get your hands on her collection, check out these brands that nail the look.

OUI

Want pretty pink tiered dresses? Or lemon yellow ones? You answer should be OUI not only because that means yes, but also because that is the brand's name! This brand currently has two option - one sleeveless and one with half sleeves. Both are made from cotton, so ideal for summer, and then breezy enough to throw on a sweater or jacket over when the winds change.

Authent

Authent focuses on designs that personify style and comfort. So, it’s no wonder that their white Bohemian dress is a favourite with Team LBB. Cap sleeves add to the top of this dress being fitted to the bust and the flare then begins for the quintessential bohemian look.

Vero Moda

With a few puff-sleeved dresses, tiered midis and maxis that are reminiscent of gauzy Danish-style dresses. Vero Moda will always have this kind of style on offer, even if the whole collection isn’t the same. My current favourite is this colour-blocked midi dress that can be worn all year round. Just switch up the accessories and you're sorted.

H&M

H&M

Well, if something is in vogue, can an H&M dress or two be far behind. Of course not! And following the exact Bahnsen style, the high street brand has a few options. The jacquard weave one is my favourite for its raglan balloon sleeves with narrow trims, and the lovely flair on the tiered skirt. There are also dresses in cotton and Lyocell in a similar style.

This brand almost always has all things cool and in style, so the Danish trend is not different. Check out this Bright Yellow Maxi Dress that is perfect for the quick breakfast with your BFF before heading off to a work lunch. Or vice versa, because I’d prefer a quick work breakfast! Available in a few colour options including red and two pinks, there a cheeky shorter version in pink too! Plus, more here.

Prices start at INR 2,000 for these.

Bae's Wardrobe

If you're looking to ace the trend, and add more to it, then check out Bae's Wardrobe. The Ruffled Neck Tiered A-Line Dress specifically should be in your cart as it is exactly what Cecilie Bahnsen would approve of. Available in six colours - including olive green, maroon and blue, the dresses come in sizes from S to 2XL. This specific one is INR 805.

Malie

A blend of India and Denmark, you know you can trust Malie when it comes to a trend that was born in Copenhagen! Created by Amalie Othilia Brandi Mikkelsen and Karandeep Singh Chadha, the New Delhi-based brand has plenty to choose from, as a lot of the silhouettes are a modified version of what Bahnsen originally did. But this Regina dress is spot on. Available in sunshine yellow and fuchsia, sizes start at 4 and go up to 16 for this dress with flowing, voluminous tiers and statement cuff sleeves. These start at INR 25,000

We're going ahead and using creative licence to put in the entire collection Lakeerein 2.0 here! Ticking off all the boxes on this trend, practically the whole collection is flouncy, tiered, feminine and you'll want to buy all of the outfits! The Citra Aakar dress - in colours like sage green and lavendar, as well as the Vena Aakar ones, fit the bill most though. And the best part? This brand does sizes from XS to 7XL. WIN!

Prices start at INR 8,500

Studio Araya

Studio Araya, based in Gujarat, has been making apparel for women who love style and comfort.Apart from co-ord sets, this brand is known for their flowy dresses that are timeless, chic and minimal. With summer upon us, these are especially welcome. Available in long and short options, for brunch or sun downers, you'll find sleeveless, sleeves and strappy options here. That too in colours ranging from muted white and greys to pink and red. This red hot one is our favourite. Prices start at INR 2,500 for the maxi dresses.

Printed Layered Dresses

While we're loving this trend with flowy, airy silhouttes and and cuts, the printed version of layered dresses are trending too, here are some brands that are doing them well.

Marche

Of all the brands I love for this trend, Marche really nails it best! Most of Marche’s collection is dominated by floral prints and bright solids in the form of dresses - mini, midi and maxi, and tunics. Utilitarian yet feminine, throw on a belt if you want to add jazz, or just leave the outfits as they should be - flowy, comfortable and voluminous. Check it out here.

Kuber Studio

Kuber Studio blends cute with comfy in almost all of their outfits. But this two-tone, gathered printed dress is a top favourite. With a silhouette enough to shape the outfit, but without being cinched at the waist, it’s a lovely choice if you’re going to the casual chic look.

Fancy Pastels

Layered. Yes. Frills. Yes. Feminine. Yes. Fancy Pastels nails the Danish trend and how. While there's not too many options, the one we love most, is a hot-seller! Off shoulder meets halter neck in this vibrant red, printed dress. Perfect for a casual day-time party, or even to show off at your next holiday, snap it up for INR 4850.

LBBTip: It's also part of LBB's Big Indie Sale, so go get it for less!

Established by a sister duo, Baise Gaba is all about unique prints and women's apparel that's kept up with the trends. We love this Afsoon Dress that's a long tiered lavender, turtle neck dress that comes with raglan sleeves and a braided hem and waist. It's super classy looking and perfect for date night. The print is floral, summery, and on point with both trends - layered dresses, and eternally trending florals.

Femella

Femella is known for a vast collection of women's apparel especially when it comes to various designs, styles, cuts, and patterns, they have a sizeable collection when it comes to layered dresses, but what caught out attention was this rust mini layered dress, that's all sorts of cute and stylish, and since earthy tones, are also in trend at the moment, this one definitely gets a thumbs up. You can spot several other layered dresses here, because this brand has taken the trend and run with it!

House Of Fett

They’re all about making you trend ready in their own unique and contemporary way. From hues of blues to pinks to even solid blacks! House of Frett reeks of comfort and style with a plethora of prints, and styles to choose from. They have a bunch of layered dresses to choose from including layered co-ord sets, but what caught our eye was this gorgeous Botanica Dress that's floral, casual, and perfect for a day time look, plus super bust friendly thanks to the elasticated top.

Juniper

Juniper is all about easy and comfy ethnic essentials for both formal, and casual occasions. They host a variety of clothing across categories. What caught our attention were their layered printed ethnic dresses that are perfect work-wear and daily-wear. We particularly liked this one for its block print and for being size inclusive. Again, the rusty, earthy tone is an added bonus, and with it being cotton based, it's quick drying, breathable and perfect for this season.
