Pencil In Two Days Of Wine, Cheese And Workshops At Fete Du Vin

What Is It?

Fete du Vin at UB City, is likely to be a Mediterranean carnival of sorts. Similar to that dreamy scene from A Walk In The Clouds {remember how yummy Keanu Reeves looked?}, this event is all about sampling great wine, nibbling on cheeses from across the globe and kicking back with an intriguing line-up of music performances. Throw in a spot of grape stomping, workshops, and we couldn't ask for more. Weekend plans sorted!

Who Is It For?

While wine connoisseurs and cheese lovers are bound to be delighted at the thought of sampling goodies and trying out pairing sessions, there's a little of everything {from food to music and quizzes} to please anyone who heads here. Not all weekends need to be just booze and brunch, right?

Why Should I Go For It?

While you get to sip on a selection of reds, whites, rosé and sparkling wines from brands like Sula, Prestige Cellar, Fratelli and Grover Zampa, there's also plenty of the cheesy stuff {literally!} on offer, courtesy Himalayan Products and Kerrygold. Once you're done tucking in to Mediterranean specials from Fava {thank you chef Abhijit Saha}, there are free workshops {with limited capacity} on pairing wine with cheese as well as the nuances of wine tasting. If you're into MasterChef, then sign up for a session with Chef Goutham {from Toscano} to try your hand at cooking with wine.

Think you're a pro at everything to do with wines? Look out for the quizzes by Enoteca {a city-based centre for wine education}. If none of the above really catches your interest, perhaps the grape stomping session will. That gets everyone excited, no? On the music front, there's blues band, MellowDyn along with acts by artistes, Megha Shankar and Soundarya to get you grooving. Did we mention wine? Oh, yes, we did.
