What Makes It Awesome

All the world is a stage for food and drinks and ShakesBierre is the bard.

Some of the presentations are theatrical too like 'the Devil gets his due', and the 'Baked Alaska'.

Drinks:
Shakespure: the signature ShakesBierre mocktail is a mix of orange, peach, ginger, pineapple and mint stirred with sour mix. It's slightly on the sweeter side but it's a good option for non alcohol drinkers.

Pearl Jam: mango and soda based mocktail, it is a delicious drink and presented in a large wine glass.

The Devil gets his due: whiskey based signature cokctail which is smoked at the table with apple smoke. It's both a joy to see it being made and having this delicious cocktail.

Whiskey sour: one can never go wrong with this all time classic cocktail made with whiskey, egg white and sweet & sour.

Food:
Arepa with grilled prawns: this Venezuelan specialty was a delightful appetizer with the drinks. It looks like a deconstructed taco. Loved the green apple slaw inside the fried arepas.

Nam Prik Lamb: the Thai style stir fried lamb was my favorite appetizer. The lamb was not chewy at all and the peppercorn in the dish made the flavor perfect.

ShakesBierre chips: these homemade tapioca, raw banana and potato chips are such a great healthy option to munch on while you wait for your food.

Mushroom Rendang: two things about this dish. First, they used both button and shiitake mushrooms which automatically made it my favorite mushroom dish ever. Second they used coconut milk in this Indonesian specialty which made it taste even better. You can just keep eating this main course without any rice.

Couscous with Moroccan vegetable tagine: the tagine was the only average dish we had all night but the couscous was yummy and perfectly made.

Wok tossed chicken dumplings: these were tasty as they should be and paired well with the Cantonese fried rice.

Vietnamese Lamb Curry: the star main course for sure. This is one of the best lamb curries I have had in Bangalore. The lamb was melting in the mouth and the Curry leaves and coconut milk based gravy was lip smacking good. Again a curry you could have without any sides.

Goan fish curry: The fish should have been cooked for a little longer but otherwise the flavors were on point. The kokum and coconut milk made the curry a 5/5 for sure. It paired so well with the Jasmine rice.

Desserts: they were so good that we tried five of them

Baked blueberry cheesecake: one of the best presented cheesecakes ever, this would be my third favorite blueberry cheesecake after Big Chill in Delhi and Glen's Bakehouse in Bangalore.

Red wine poached pear: the pears were so delicious that we forgot about the olive oil cake on the side. You just mix the pears in the whipped custard and enjoy the deliciousness.

Shakesbierre Brownie: a deconstructed brownie, this is a house specialty and is presented like a mountain along with honey nut crunch ice cream. I liked the ice cream but the deconstructed brownie meant that the hard crust and the soft brownie were separate. So the best way to enjoy would be to mix a little bit of all the things on the plate and eat it together.

Baked Alaska: I enjoyed the taste and the presentation for this one. They flame it at the table with Brandy and it's a delight to watch as the brandy falls over the baked alaska of ice cream in slow motion. It tasted even better than usual as they enclosed the baked alaska with Meringue.

Coconut Crème Brûlée: the best dessert of the night, the coconut flavor did the trick. The chef's take on the classic Crème Brûlée is a winner. Paired with the raspberry cream on top, I could eat the entire dessert by myself if I had not tasted the four others before this.

All in all a great dining experience. And it's a must visit place for anyone who loves good food and drinks.

Special mention to our server Bijit. He knows everything about the dishes from the content to how they are made. He made it an even better experience by telling us all about the preparation.
