What Makes It Awesome

The ever-buzzing 12th Main Indiranagar gets a new place for you to hit up -- be it for lunch or that Friday evening drinks with the gang. Hopshaus Tropical Taproom & Kitchen is the second avatar of Hopshaus Botanical Brewery & Kitchen, Whitefield and we dropped by an afternoon to check out what's on offer. Located above Sanchez & Sriracha (they share the same space), the space is dotted with plants that are either potted or hanging from the lights. Don't miss out on the Insta-friendly tropical mural complete with neon signage by the barside to take all your pictures after you've had a good time.

The food is a mix of small plates, platters, and mains and you'll love that the wood-fired oven (it's adjacently opposite the bar) is used to make not just pizza, but also fresh bread. We started off with the Pull-Apart Masala Garlic Bread. The garlic bread gives you that Insta-worthy cheesy pull and it's something we'll order every time we are here. The Hops Spiced Pita Pillows with hummus, made fresh in the oven, is another appetiser we don't mind ordering again -- that hummus is just yummus. Tijuana Chicken Tikka is another winner for the day. Chef Vikas, the man behind the menu, was there to tell us about one of the signature dishes, the Kadaknath Chicken Curry -- it's a delicacy of nutrient-rich black chicken that's slow-cooked in an in-house spice mix. Best to order when you are with the whole gang.

To finish off things, the Hophaus Chocolate -- a decadent Belgian chocolate mousse.

Pro-Tip

Since we were working on the day we visited, we are going back for the draught beer on tap and the signature cocktails such as Asian Gimlet and Purple Compass.
