Art Attack

An NGO that’s all about keeping the local handicrafts and arts scene alive, A Hundred Hands is back with the 8th edition of its Annual Collective. The exhibition and bazaar will feature over a hundred artists and their stalls, where you can pick up everything from Rogan art from Gujarat and Thangka paintings from the North East to plenty of looms and yardage in Batik, Shibori, Ikat and Bandhani styles to name a few. And this time, they’re switching things up with their Me To We initiative, where two traditional artists collaborate to create a third complete unique art. So expect to see block earrings and sarees made from towels and more at the collective.

This time, the exhibition will also feature a community art project that you can contribute to. The installation will be made of wires and threads. There will also be sessions by different artists on the art forms they’ve mastered and workshops too, even for the little ones. Make sure you work up an appetite while you’re there as there will be plenty of food stalls set up at the venue, by the best home bakers and chefs in the city. Watch this space for more.
