Ten-second takeaway

A group dedicated to spreading the goodness of tea, It’s Our Cuppa Tea hosts regular events, all focusing on the popular beverage.

 Tea for all

Driven by her love for tea, Susmita Das Gupta {city-based personal brand coach, originally from Kolkata} decided to form a group, bringing together like-minded people in the city. Started around two years ago, It’s Our Cuppa Tea is a community of tea enthusiasts who hope to make people aware of the goodness of the drink. Meeting up regularly for discussions {which cover everything from the history to the finer aspects of tea drinking}, they also have tasting events which include trying out different kinds of tea {collected by members during their travels} or exploring how they can be aptly paired with different food. For newbies {oh yes, the group is open to all}, this can be quite an eye-opening experience!

Tea party

Their upcoming event, An English Afternoon Tea Party, will present a selection of tea and small portions of savouries and desserts, along with a bunch of stories revolving around the concept. And, of course, you will also get to hear about the origin of the afternoon tea practice, which was started in 1840 by the seventh Duchess of Bedford {England} as a light meal between lunchtime and dinner {aren’t we all familiar with those evening hunger pangs?}. So,anyone up for a cup of tea?
