If we had a chance to put together our dream house, be rest assured that the majority of products would be sourced from Nicobar. And this time, their collection which is inspired by Japan, will not only make you long to visit Japan, but also stock up on every product, so that you have your own mini- version of the country when you return. Have you checked them out yet?

From Delhi To Tokyo

The new season collection is an effort to combine the simplicity of Japanese culture with the signature modern Indian aesthetic of Nicobar, to create something new yet at the same time refined and sophisticated. With a focus on elements like stripes, cherry blossoms, lush foliage and muted tones, the homeware collection comprises Nanako, Hanabie and Shunin while the dining ware is called Nakano.

The Home Collection

Situated to the west of Tokyo, Nakano city is a major inspiration behind the home collection of the brand. The cherry blossoms, fluttering toucans, concrete settlements, and speckled pathways, have in some way or the other been integrated into the brand’s decor offerings {including their throws and cushions}. For instance, the Koharu Cushion Pink and Koharu Lumbar Cushion are the perfect pairing for a little print-on-print play, while the Tabi throw integrates muted colours to create a clean yet sophisticated look. The Haru cushion in subtle ivory and pops of berry and green makes for a great addition to any living room. If finely woven muslin is something that is more up your alley, we recommend the Jamdani cushion in ivory that features a host of geometric shapes on the front. A perfect something, if you want to add a unique yet familiar touch to your home.

Nakano: The Dining Collection

So while chopsticks might not always bring out our sophisticated side, the items in the Nakano collection of the brand is straight out of picture book. Made from glazed and matte tuscan stoneware, this collection beautifully integrates the chaotic beauty of a brooding metropolis city. Pick from their tapas plates that comes in two variations. Not only are they perfect for those who swear by simple, contemporary design, they are also a true testimony to the culture of Japan through elements like toucans, Chinese bell flowers and lush foliage. Add the extra elegance to your dining room with their sparse, relaxed and pretty plates, perfect to take your meals experience to the next level. Our favourite pick from the collection? The Nakano breakfast set that features a coffee mug, a breakfast plate and a cereal bowl. With hints of fauna on the plate and mug, the cereal bowl comes in glazed tuscan stoneware with a ribbed interior, making it an essential addition to any modern home.
