5 Reasons Why We're Looking Forward To Kitsch Mandi's Edition This Weekend

The information in this post might be outdated

Just when you thought you had had enough of shopping after the festive season, the popular flea market, Kitsch Mandi comes to town for another edition! While there will be a bunch of new brands to look out for along with food, art and music {perfect Sunday plan!}, what really sets this edition apart is that it's going to be at an all-new venue  — Temple Tree in Sahakar Nagar! Just around 20 minutes ahead of their previous spot, this one makes for a greener and more spacious location. If you're still wondering whether to head there or not, we've picked out five reasons which make the new Kitsch Mandi edition and its venue a must-visit.

Green, Green Everywhere

Supposedly a farmhouse turned into a wedding venue, Temple Tree's expansive, grassy lawn {where you can lazily sprawl on} surrounded by trees makes for a nice getaway on a laidback Sunday. Plus, you get to shop, eat and enjoy the music, all in the midst of nature! Don't want to leave your pet behind while you head out for a fun day? No worries! You won't have to think twice about taking along your dear pooch; they have plenty of space to run around while you shop.

More To Shop

While a bigger space is a welcome respite from the clutter and rush of the regular crowd, the new location has another highlight to lure you there — more brands to look out for! Packing in nearly 60 stalls, there's everything from apparel to food in store for the shopaholics among you. Apart from quirky accessories from brands like The Desi Soul and an impressive collection of Kohlapuri footwear from Pepper Bag Girl, look out for bags with kalamkari work, trendy apparel, handmade goodies and even affordable art, courtesy the Junta art market.

While they have a lineup of interesting workshops for you {think screen printing and coconut fibre sculpting}, we're actually slightly envious of their sessions for kids. After all, what's not to love about making your own cute puppets and colourful kites, all in a charming wooded area at the venue, oblivious to the crowd around you?

Picnic In The Garden

Not much of a shopping person? Go on and make it a picnic of sorts, we say. Lounge about with a beer in hand, or sample some of the food that will be on offer. Offering a little bit of everything, there are around ten stalls with Mexican, Bengali and barbeque dishes to pick from, and sweet treats to finish off your meal with. Plus stalls selling smoothies, natural peanut butter and fresh goodies to stock up on!

Music Under The Stars

While you are at it, there's plenty of upbeat music to make most of the breezy evening. Promising a mix of electronica and folk pop, the lineup includes city-based indie musician, GrapeGuitarBox aka Teenasai Balamu, Prateek Kuhad and Kamomile. Whether you decide to sit back and enjoy the music under the stars or just stand by and soak in the vibes {and the beats}, this just completes the equation, we think.
