Chindi

We had a special 2015 with two amazing design collaborations — a new collection of #chindi bags designed by @kometjuice and a collection of upcycled jewellery designed by @schiria Both designers, Ayesha and Simrat, truly collaborated with our ladies, taking their designs and ideas to the next level. And their products proved to be some of our bestsellers at @htkgaf16 this year. We're super grateful to these ladies and also very keen to invite more designers from various disciplines who would like to collaborate with our ladies, helping take their craft to a wider audience. Contact us at hello@chindi.in if you design graphics, accessories, furniture, jewellery, or work with any medium at all, and let's collaborate!

Their name might be Chindi, but their intent is anything but. This socially-responsible company from Mumbai turns textile waste into funky earrings, sling bags, yoga mat straps, and home decor with the help of women from marginalised neighbourhoods. Pom poms and floral bands for the hair, cotton sling bags with waterproof lining and adjustable canvas straps, and the pretty printed yoga mat straps are some of our favourites. Chindi has also worked with women’s fashion brands such as Nor Black Nor White and Chiria, and kidswear label Love The World Today to create funky jewellery, headbands and accents, all made out of waste.
