Yaaaay! Lucy Rose Is Bringing Back Soulful Folk Rock To The Humming Tree

What Is It?

Bringing her unmistakeable indie folk music back to Bangalore, British-artist Lucy Rose will be performing at The Humming Tree this May, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Last year, she wowed us with her acoustic melodies, signature soprano and soulful lyrics. But since then, she’s signed on with a new label and from what we hear, it’s her ‘most complete writing’. The album, called Something’s Changing, even begins with an intro tune on the harp. And it’s called Intro. How’s that for intrigue?

Who Is It For?

If you’re looking for soul, lyrics that aren’t repetitive and music that isn’t modified beyond recognition, we’ll see you on Saturday, May 27. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Lucy Rose’s melodious tunes, then come check it out, you’ll be a fan two songs into the gig.

Why Should I Go For It?

Well, maybe you could try what I did when I asked myself the question. I listened to the newest release off this new album. I heard the song Floral Dresses, that also features The Staves, an English folk band. It’s beautiful. We’re also hoping to catch glimpses of her mini-documentary also titled, Something’s Changing, which is a documentation of her 2016 tour of South America where she played 33 gigs in 8 weeks. So, take a break from the EDM, the heavy partying and usual pub hopping, in favour of a night with Lucy, her music and her travels.
