Summer's just around the corner with a bright colour palette from MAC's new SS 16 collection.

Saturated with bright, pigmented colours for the lips, cheeks and even the eyes, sun kissed rather than sun-tanned skin and a raw, make-up-free look with a wee bit of concealer to set things into place, MAC's SS 16 collection looks all set to welcome summer with a bang. Exaggerated lashes, aquatic colours for the eyes and really shocking splashes of colour on the lips are on the cards. Think bold pinks and reds along with toned down cherry and raspberry tones.
Look test
We tried the Personal Statement from MAC's Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour, a shocking pink tone with a liquid-suede finish and saturated shade. But the really bright (read crazy bright) tones might not suit most Indian skin tones except for those with very fair complexion. Like one of the LBB crew's cool grandma, who totally rocked the hot pink lips look with her fair skin tone. We also tried the much-more wearable Huggable Glass lipgloss in the shade Mega-Hug. We loved the rich berry tones, the fact that the initial shiny, glossy feel gave way to a more restrained lip stain. It was also long lasting as we ate and drank through an application and didn't need to refresh the gloss. We also prettied up our eyes with the 'Tonight's the Night' shadow. A lovely, deep peacock green, the shimmer on this one makes it our go-to pigment for all those nights out on the town.
