Winning for

Their wafer-thin, oh-so-perfect holiges that you can’t get enough of.

Perfect precision

Meet the holige in traditional and inventive avatars at Mane Holige. Immensely popular, you’ll always find a stream of holige lovers outside the place. Step in and you’ll see a flawless assembly line in place. While one worker prepares the stuffed dough, the next rolls it out before flipping it onto a waiting tawa. After cooling it down for a bit, they’ll swiftly serve it to waiting customers.

Sweet something

We tried the traditional dry coconut and dal versions and were impressed by both. The delicate, dry coconut holige highlighted the slight coarseness and subtle sweetness of the coconut splendidly. In the dal holige, the lentils had been cooked to a soft, melt-in-mouth consistency. We then tried one of Mane Holige’s more exotic specialities – the Anjur Holige. The Anjur {fig} had been made into a smooth mash before being incorporated with the dough. The sweet stickiness of the dry fruit along with the tiny, crunchy seeds proved to be a treat.

DL on the ambience

Two tiny shops, at one end of DVG Road, make up Mane Holige. Collect your receipt at the counter and make your way through the crowd to get your plates of holige. Like the others, you can chomp on your sweet treats on the footpath or take it home.

So we’re thinking…

This is now officially our favourite place for all our holige needs. Period.
