If there was a cool food trend doing the rounds, then a brew incorporating it can’t be far behind. And trust Bangalore to follow up the Millet Festival with a Millet Beer brew! Part of the Organics and Millets festival, organised by the government of Karnataka, the Millet Beer Festival will kick off today {January 19} for two weeks. This means plenty of microbreweries across the city will be serving up their version of the millet beer.

Considered an organic superfood, we’re quite pumped to be trying beers that have been made with millets and are expected to be served in various different flavours, including ragi and jaggery, sorghum and bajra, barley beer among other clever brews. Popular brewpub Toit is serving up the Namma Beeru which is a robust ale infused with ragi and jaggery. Over at Brewsky, you can drink a Ragi Amber Ale. Even Biere Street in Whitefield, The Biere Club on Lavelle Road and Brewklyn in Kammanahalli will join in the festival, if you want to guzzle some form of millet beer.

When: January 19 until the end of the month.
