If pure, vegetarian Andhra Brahmin food is what you have been looking for, you are in luck this month. Nandhana Palace has collaborated with home chef Sumitra Kalapatapu of Sumi’s Kitchen, and will be serving her special recipes all of this month for lunch and dinner.

The Andhra Brahmin meals this month at Nandhana Palace comes with a specially curated menu which has never been served in the past. These include dishes like the Mirapakaya Bajji {chilli bajji}, Allam Pachadi {ginger chutney} and many other home style dishes. Non-vegetarians can also try the highly unusual Bamboo Chicken and the Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani. The Bamboo Chicken is marinated and grilled inside a bamboo segment, imparting a lovely smokey flavour. The Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani made with potli masalas is the best in Bangalore with heady aromas, good quality mutton and long grain rice, worthy of a Nawab’s kitchen.

The Banana Leaf meal, Bamboo Chicken and the Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani.

What Didn’t Impress Us

Some of the dishes can be spicy but that’s the way people like it.

What Is The Best Time To Visit?

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner only, so any day works actually. They have a total of 12 branches around town, so look out for the branch closest to you. Reservation recommended.
