NDLS Presents a Glimpse of Life in Delhi in Short Sketches

Ten-second takeaway

Take a peek into life in a metro {in this case Delhi} with the variety sketch show, NDLS by Dehi's The Tadpole Repertory.

Short and sweet

Putting together around 30 short vignettes, NDLS {Nayi Dilli Likely Stories} is all set to open in the city with shows in three different venues. Going by its episode-style format, director Bikram Ghosh describes it more as a live version of a TV show than a play. Produced by the Delhi-based collective of artistes, The Tadpole Repertory, the show is brought to Bangalore in association with Sandbox Collective {a city-based theatre collective}.

Life in acts

With dialogues in Hindi, English and Bengali, the 60-70 minute play has a bunch of sketches, all depicting urban life in Delhi {surely that's entertainment enough!}. Think short scenes {some lasting just over a minute} showing mundane life and situations related to public transportation, interactions with strangers and gender-based experiences {of course}. Adapting the play for their Bangalore tour, the group has included actors from the city. Tweaking the order and format as well as the choice of sketches, they have tried to keep the show at each venue different so you can go to all and still be surprised. While it is generally a comedy, you can also expect a mixture of dramatic and musical elements.
