Ten-second takeaway

If you thought a circus was entertainment enough, think again. And this time throw in theatre and you've got Behind the Door, a unique performance which blends humour, poetry, magic and juggling.

Circus in town

Behind the Door, created by Compagnie Tour de Cirque (a France-based group which promotes circus arts), brings in an element of theatre to present a modern take on the art of circus (as part of the Neo Circus portfolio). Expect silent acting and engaging performances with a good dose of humour and acts like juggling, and magic. Brought to town by Alliance Francaise de Bangalore, the 55-minute show has French actors, Farid Abed and Marion Achard.

Juggling acts

What happens when, one fine day, the waiter at Petit Cafe falls in love with a lady who passes by? The unusual meeting of the two characters also involves a case of mistaken identity. This forms the storyline of the performance which will include slapstick action, juggling, magic tricks (perhaps, a flaming bouquet or an egg that dissolves into confetti, going by earlier shows) and silly stunts to crack you up.
