Our End Of The Year List Of All The Newly Opened Restaurants, Cafes & Bars

    217K  Views

More often than not our users, friends, and family, and anyone who knows we work at LBB ask us one question: What is a new place I should eat at? And we pride ourselves in answering that question time and again. But then there comes a time when there are a few too many new places for us to remember. Hence this list of new restaurants and bars that are opened in Bangalore. Thank us later! Oh and always remember to follow all the safety regulations when you are heading to these places!

    Vegan Vogue

    Vegan Vogue

    Indira Nagar, Bangalore

Vegan Vogue is a new vegan restaurant that wants you to have good food without compromising on the taste and guilty pleasures. A cute space that's dotted with green, it's the perfect spot for date nights or an afternoon lunch with your best friend. The menu isn't complicated and it's refreshing to see the options are different from your usual vegan staples (we spotted no avocado toast!). Our favourites are the Apple & Walnut Salad, Stuffed Mushrooms, Zucchini Fritters, Butternut Squash Ravioli, and Matcha Cream Chocolate.

    Bhola & Blonde

    Bhola & Blonde

    Indira Nagar, Bangalore

Bhola & Blonde has opened its doors in the bustling 12th Main Indiranagar (they are a floor above Araku) and they bring you an Indian Progressive Fusion menu to the table. The space is big on the peacock theme and there are several spots for you to take pictures after a good dinner with the gang. Back to the menu, which we are yet to try, we hear there's something from every corner of India (including the drinks menu). A signature dish that we want to try is Paneer Tikka Bruschetta and follow it up with a Mutton Rogan Gosh for mains. The Soan Papdi and Mishti Doi Baked Cheesecake certainly have piqued our interest. We'll report soon on the menu, so watch this space for more.

    Bombay Borough

    Bombay Borough

    Ashok Nagar, Bangalore

Wood Street's newest addition is a pretty, all-day bar and restaurant that's worth spending the evenings and date nights. You will love the mango tree at the centre and the outdoor open-to-nature setting. Throw in Insta-worthy elements such as brass lamps, hand-painted ceramic wallplates, and vintage curios, it's a space that can soon be a favourite spot in town. The Bougainvillea Bar is where you need to head to get sip on signature cocktails such as Cochin Smoke, Darjeeling Nights, and Chowpatty Beach Lolly (all inspired by local ingredients). Check out the Pauwas with chaknas on the side. Small Plates have our attention with options such as Gongura Chicken with Dosai and Mango Mustard Broccoli.

    BLR Brewing Co

Touted to be Bangalore first's traditional brew garden with trees that are over 50 years old, BLR Brewing Co. on Kanakapura Road is worth a visit even if you are not staying in South Bangalore. Greens, water bodies, an open-air setting, and the fact that it's away from the hustle and bustle make this a pretty good spot for your weekend scenes. The food is big on regional flavours but there's also your good old Asian and continental fare -- think Kundapura Ghee Roast, Vietnamese Chicken Satay, and Pizza.

    Flo

    FLO

    Ashok Nagar, Bangalore

Church Street's newest addition Flo is bringing back live music and sets along with finger food and bar bites. Private seated booths and alfresco dining spaces have our heart, especially with the alfresco setting perfect for date nights and lunch dates. The menu has bit of everything for everything -- from Pan-Asian to regional picks, order anything from Kakori Kebabs to Stir-Fried Chicken & Pineapple. Keep the night alive with their signature cocktails such as Save The Tiger and Drops of Jupiter.

    Mahesh Lunch Home

    Mahesh Lunch Home

    Indira Nagar, Bangalore

We are so glad Mahesh Lunch Home has opened again and in a new location and in a new avatar. The menu remains the same with a heavy focus on seafood and their popular thalis. That Ghee Roast always leaves us happy. Go in for lunch or dinner and sit by the space that overlooks Indiranagar 100 Feet Road. Of course, our go-to order has always been the fish thali but we recommend you give their Speciality dishes a go if you haven't already. Oh and while you are at it, check out their seafood for the day and pair it with a cocktail. Yes, there are some cocktails such as Aam Panna Margherita that sound fun!

    The Lotus Oriental

The Lotus Oriental at The Leela Bhartiya City with its outdoor seating adjacent to the infinity pool and overlooking the park, make it a lovely spot to dig into some Pan-Asian food. You will find Classic Somtum rubbing shoulders with Bangkok Street Style Pad Thai, a Beijing Bento with Seitan Gung Pao, dim sums, sushi and sashimi (there's even a line up on vegan sushi). Our interest is also piqued with signature dishes such as Cantonese Buttermilk Prawn, Mapo Tofu, and Yuzu Lemon Curd Ice Cream. For drinks, we are going to try the Wasabi Mary.

    Geist Brewing Taproom

    Geist Brewing Taproom

    rajaji nagar, Bangalore

Folks in West Bangalore, rejoice as namma local beer brand, Geist has finally opened its doors in your neighbourhood. Geist Brewing Taproom is located inside Orion Mall at Brigade Gateway, by the lakeside. Fresh craft beer is on tap including favourites such as Geist Silly Pint and Geist Uncle Dunkel. For food, we recommend going for the pizza -- we are eying the Peppery Pork. Bar nibbles include Madras Idli Chaat, Smoked Chilli Chicken, and Ghee Roast Prawn Cracker. There's a Pulled Pork Idli that we are looking at having when we pop by.

    Old Madras Baking Company

Old Madras Baking Company is set on New BEL Road, the look and feel are exactly the same as the original Chennai one - warm, cosy, wooden and somewhat industrial. Community-style tables provide an opportunity to strike up a conversation with strangers and friends. They also have cereal bread, brioches, bagels and pastries. Plus, jams, preserves, pickles, pasta, honey and chocolate sauces - all handmade, with no preservatives at all.

    The Pet People

Channelling the vibes of New York - its diversity, love for coffee, veganism and pets, The Pet People Cafe is the perfect place to kick off your day with caffeine, a bagel with your beagle in tow! Or any doggo for that matter as the cafe is pet-friendly. Located inside the Paws & Collars store in HSR Layout, the cafe's menu, curated by master chef Abhijit Saha, is also inspired by New York, so expect a curated selection with coffees straight from Chikmagalur, roasted to perfection. They have an all-day breakfast section including smoothie bowls as well as New York-style baked cheesecake.
