Furniture To Footwear: Here's Our Round-up Of The Best New Shopping Spots In BLR
The Maeva Store, Indiranagar
If you're a self-proclaimed candle head, then The Maeva Experience store located in Indiranagar is a one-stop-shop for all your fragrance obsessions. Chandlers of only the best kinds of fragrances and decorative candles, their range boasts everything from sweet macaron scented candles for baby showers to cupcake candles to pantry and spa zen koi candles. That's not all, this women-led label also makes a whole range of home fragrances (diffusers, essential oils, fragrance sachets), dried floral arrangements (carnation torans, wreathes, hangers) and home decor pieces. Something's Brewing, Indiranagar
Coffee lovers get excited because if you've been wishing to learn and understand more about your favourite beverage, Something's Brewing can make that happen! This e-commerce label that celebrates all things coffee has finally opened a lovely experiential store in Indiranagar. At this sprawling space they host coffee-making/cupping workshops, stock internationally acclaimed coffee gear and only the best quality coffee brands, all for your pleasure and discovery. Of course, you can also sip on your go-to coffee while you browse through and shop. The staff is super friendly and will assist you with any questions and make good recommendations too!
Bath & Body Works, Magrath Road
Bath & Body Works opened its newest store in Garuda Mall (we hear they are hitting Indiranagar too, soon) and the city went running! But even before this, as testament to the love for this hugely popular USA-based bath & body care chain, people would make the trip to their first retail store, all the way in Phoenix Marketcity, Whitefield! Now that the store is more centrally located, we hear, no matter how big the space is, it's always crowded with B&B loyalists snagging the best deals on their iconic fragrances, body care and three-wick candles. That said, both of these outlets are always packed, so if you're heading here be prepared to wait at the billing counters. Still worth it and you know that.
Lulu Mall, Rajajinagar
One of the biggest highlights of 2021, at least for Bengaluru, was when Lulu Hypermarket finally opened doors in October after much speculation. This is the UAE supermarket giant's second larger-than-life property after the one in Kochi and it boasts several other features too! For one, the flagship store located inside Global Malls, Rajajinagar is the largest hypermarket in town. Global Malls itself spreads across 14 acres with over 130 stores and 17 kiosks on 5 storeys, in all this space is about 800,000 square feet! What's more, the mall houses one of the largest indoor entertainment zones too -- 60,000 square feet gaming arcade, Funtura! It has 9D theaters, VR rides, a tag arena and so much more! Make a trip here a total family affair, for more details on their opening, click here.
Metercube, St Mark's Road
If you're moving into a new home or redesigning is on the cards, head to Meter Cube's sprawling offline space (the largest store) set in 1 Sobha Mall on St Mark's Road. The setups are just as stunning as you'd imagine it to be with fully furnished living rooms and bedrooms (6 each), 4 inspiring kitchen set ups and a 775 square feet fully furnished apartment, all to help you visualise your dream home. You can also request the staff to help you understand how different furniture combinations would look in various rooms, or better still, help the team custom design your dream home for you. Apart from sleek, minimal and modern pieces of furniture, you can also shop for individual home & kitchen categories - everything from lighting to tableware, to furnishings, storage and more. The designs of every piece here are fresh, dynamic and on-trend.
Fizzy Goblet, Rajajinagar
Fizzy Goblet needs no introduction, the brand practically reinvented the OG desi shoe-type and put it on the map! We're talking about juttis and believe us when we tell you this, every B-town celebrity closet has a stunning pair of juttis from here. The brand is known for their hatke designs and innovation - so be it elaborate embroidered juttis of delicate hand-painted pairs, they handcraft it all in standout style. Although we did love shopping from their online store, we're ecstatic to finally touch, feel and try on their fabulous creations at their designer store at Orion Mall, Rajajinagar. Apart from juttis, the store also stocks several other shoes with Fizzy Goblet's signature artistry like mules, heels, vegan slides, kolhapuri wedges and much more. Read about the brand here.
Under Armour, Rajajinagar
Another one of the first's in town, popular American sportswear brand (endorsed by many international athletes), Under Armour has opened a store in Orion Mall, Rajajinagar. So if you're looking for high-performance and functional athletic apparel, footwear and accessories, pay the store a visit. The brand is on the pricier side but this store is constantly running sales and discounts on most products. What we like buying on sale are their seamless t-shirts and tanks, sports bra, and running shorts. The quality is top notch, so you won't have to worry about wear and tear or frequent purchases.
Adrish Zerowaste Organic Store, JP Nagar
Peach Jelly Co
Pastels & Pop, Indiranagar
Pastels & Pop's flagship store at Indiranagar is as whimsical in its interiors as the brands jutti creations. We've been regular shoppers from their online store but now the experience has gone up a notch because we get to see, feel and try their traditional Punjabi footwear in its glorious modern twists. The festive embroidered juttis are forever favourites but also on display (very pleasing laid out, might we add) are quirky bohemian designs, sliders and an limited collection of men's juttis too. Everything here is handmade with vegan leather and comfortable max. Read about the brand here.
Theobroma had to make it to this list, not as place to shop, but THE DESSERT spot to stop at after a tiring day of shopping. We Bengaluru folks were done asking our friends and family to bring us a box of Theobroma brownies every time they visited, so it was about time they opened not one but several stores across the city (Lavelle Road, Indiranagar, Jayanagar, Koramangala). We visited the Indiranagar outlet (all designed to feature the classic Theobroma shades of pastel pinks and mints) that has plenty of seating and ordered ourselves the signature Overload Brownie, Millionaire Brownie and eggless outrageous brownie. Total dessert coma. They also have savoury options and artisanal breads on the menu too. Read more here.
