If you spend a good part of your week at home and eating snacks like there's no tomorrow (let's be honest, tomorrow never came). Of course getting chips, veggies, biscuits, crackers, and the like is easy, but what about dip? Or maybe you want to marinate your meat or enjoy a basic roll with your elevated palate, but pickles and ketchup just won't do. Don’t worry, there’s a range of options available, and you don’t need to head to your favourite restaurant for their secret recipe. Here’s our pick.

Big Fat Essentials

A Delhi gem that soon 'spread' pan-India, Big Fat Essentials have everything from DIY pizza and burger kits, spreads, sauces, to dips and more. Expect delights like truffle cream cheese, strawberry preserve, turmeric hummus, different mayos, mushroom pate, almond butter and more. They're very careful and transparent about their ingredients so if you do have dietary restrictions it's easy to spot. We'd eyes-closed recommend their cream cheeses on a slice of warm sourdough.

Nomad Food Project

You're either a bacon lover, or know 10 other people who are. Presenting Nomad Food Project, a brand obsessed with everything bacon, but in a slightly hatke way. They decided to put it in a jar (or several) mixing and matching with different ingredients from onion, bourbon, chillis, and more. They're essentially bacon pickles, jams and marmalades that can go with (and don top of anything!) We've tried their bacon stout marmalade and trust us when we say all you need is a slice of bread (or the whole loaf)

They have a bunch of spreads across a range of flavours from Indian to continental be it butter chicken, prawn, shawarma, siracha, and even egg! Their spreads make snacking and sandwich/ roll making super easy. We've tried their chunky chicken and siracha prawn and give them a thumbs up!

Yummus

Hummus is one of the most popular and versatile dips there is, and is pretty much top level snack accompaniment. Spicy chips? Yes. Veggies? Yum! Bread and/or rotis? Sure why not, with some veggies. Yummus should have you covered with their range. Choose from plain, spinach, beetroot, and roasted bell pepper flavours among others and enjoy! They even have rather unique options like sweet potato and avocado. The best part is that you can order great pita and lavash too!

Pair them up with these homemade, homegrown snack brands, right here on LBB.

We’ll start with saying that there’s no such thing such as too much chutney, and this brand fully understands that. Your dosa (idli, upma, puri, rice, neer dosa, and anything else) needs an accomplice that elevates it and at least one of the 22 chutneys will help. From usuals like coconut, mint, and tomato to flavours like brinjal, radish, and chicken, your tiffin and snacks will never be boring again. You know, our lazy 2020 breakfasts usually featured a chutney (or few) from here.
