Silver Jewellery, Brocade Dresses & Nehru Jackets At Pop-Up Shop Silk & Stone

Aakanksha posted on 08 December

What Is It?

Just in time for Christmas, Xanadu – the home pleasure store, is hosting a pop-up shop with IKKIVI and Flames Of The Forest. Called Silk & Stone, the two independent labels are coming together for the first time at this pop-up, and will be showcasing everything from Indo-Western dresses and delicate silver jewellery to silk outfits for the ladies and ikat shirts for the lads. Plus, wine and hors d'oeuvres to add to the festive spirit.

Who’s It For?

If you’re looking for buy presents for the upcoming festival {this also means plenty of self gifting, which we greatly approve of!}, then this is the place for you. IKKIVI, started by Nivi S Murthy and Nikhita Giridhar, is a slow movement fashion website which curates a host of interesting designers and we can’t wait to get our hands on their contemporary and modern silhouettes. Made with Indian fabrics and sensibilities, there’ll be 10 brands exhibiting including The Olio Stories, Blueprint, N&S Gaia and U.F.F. Think festive silk dresses and skirts, contemporary occasion ensembles in light brocade and even sassy crochet outfits. Oh, men! Look out for ikat shirts and snazzy Nehru jackets too.

Naturally, you can’t look your best without some accessories. Enter Flames Of The Forest with bespoke silver jewellery. Studded with semi-precious stones such as streaked turquoise, raw emeralds and unpolished aquamarine, we love how timeless the Mrinalini Cariappa-designed pieces are. And that they go as well with an LBD or trousers as they do a silk saree or anarkali. In fact, we’re eyeing a pair of earrings made from peridot, blue topaz and opal, set in Sterling silver, so leave that for us please.

Why Should I Go For It?

While it seems like these will cost you an arm and a leg, it’s quite the opposite. The IKKIVI collection starts at INR 2,500 while the jewellery starts at INR 1,500. See why we say it’s a great time to splurge on others and on yourself. See you there folks!
