Ratatat Arrives in Town for a Magnetic Fields Pre-show

Ten-second takeaway

Can't make it to Magnetic Fields this year? Don't stress. Electronic and rock band Ratatat will make a pitstop in town before the event.

B-Town pit stop

Just a day before their performance at the Magnetic Fields Festival {in Rajasthan}, this Brooklyn-based rocktronica {that's rock-meets-electronica} duo, will be in town for a sneak-peek before the big gig. Founded in 2001 and formerly known as Cherry, the group changed their name to Ratatat in 2003, and are an instrumental-only act. Consisting of multi-instrumentalist/programmer Evan Mast and guitarist Mike Stroud, this will be the first time they are playing in India.

On the cards

Expect a blend of electronic, rock and hip hop music at this gig, possibly featuring tracks from their fifth album, Magnifique {released earlier this year}. And if you haven't heard the album yet, then you're in for a real treat and the duo has gone all out {they did have five years to prepare though!}. Elegiac guitar beats with a hint of disco comes through, and we cannot wait to hear Cream on Chrome and Abrasive live, when they hit town.
