    What Is It?

This weekend, all roads lead to the Bengaluru Poetry Festival at Leela Palace. Sign up for two days packed with rhyme and reason and meet up with literary giants like Gulzar, Girish Karnad, and Jerry Pinto.

    Who Is It For?

For anybody who loves or is curious about poetry, the second edition of the Bengaluru Poetry Festival is a must. Internationally recognised poets and artistes are set to make an appearance and provide fodder for your poetic soul.

    Why Should I Go?

After a successful run last year, the Bengaluru Poetry Festival is back with a bang! Held on the August 5 and 6, 2017, the festival will bring to the centre stage poets, lyricists, performers, and singers from around the world. Conceptualised by the folks behind Atta Galatta and an eminent panel of poets and poetry lovers — the festival’s packed schedule features plenty of exciting names.

On the first day, you can look forward to Gulzar discussing the ongoing culture of intolerance and the plight of the aam aadmi in the country. During a later session, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan will highlight the icons of Indian music and Girish Karnad is set to launch a book of poems inspired by old Bollywood songs. The second day will see Jerry Pinto discussing poetry and you can also look forward to sessions on theory, craft, and meter, and on how to go about publishing poetry. The festival will host workshops by Mani Rao, Niranjan Iyengar, and Rochelle D’Silva.
