Head to Shiro for their Asian Grill festival that might change the way you look at Oriental food. Surely you haven’t tried a grilled cocktail ever before!

License to grill

Known for their sushi brunches and bold flavours from the East, Shiro is switching things up this winter. And since we’ve had a spate of coldish weather lately, they’re turning up the heat quite literally. Shirt is hosting an Asian Grill festival, as part of the Shiro Collection which is a range of niche food festivals across the year. Appetisers range from Hoisin Glazed BBQ Tofu with a tangy kick to Sriracha Corn on the Cob. On the meaty front, we recommend the Wasabi Prawn Skewers with a hint of honey, Lemongrass-infused Pork Belly with Avocado Salsa, or even the New Zealand Lamb Chops marinated in bold Indonesian spices.

Boozy flames

But what we really love {yes, more than the pork belly!} is that the fact that even their drinks are getting a hot makeover. Classic cocktails such as Mai Tai now come with a toasty Amaretto twist while Mandarin Sunset sees burnt Mandarin oranges add zing to the usually peachy and vanilla delight. Their signature Mojito plays host to caramelised and grilled pineapples to jazz up the cocktail, and we’re not complaining!

So we’re thinking…

This weekend until December 15, we’re making sure that Shiro is first on our bar hopping trail. You can get off to a warm start and then take on the nippy nights.
