Moyra In Kalyan Nagar Has Some Hard-To-Find Bengali Sweets For Their Poush Sankranti Festival

Amrita posted on 13 January

To celebrate Poush Sankranti {the Bengali version of Sankranti}, Bengali sweet shop Moyra — The Sweetmaker is having a two-day special festival dedicated to sweets usually made during this festival. On offer will be the hard-to-find-outside-Bengal pithe or delicate rice crepes with a selection of sweet fillings. Look out for creation such as the Dudh Puli — coconut and khoya-stuffed rice rolls, Patishapta {rice crepes stuffed with a filling of condensed milk, coconut and jaggery}, Rosh Bhora {fried dumplings soaked in sugar syrup}, Bhaja Muger Puli {a rice and mung dal fried sweet dumpling} and of course winter special Nolen Gurer Payesh {infused with the smokey palm jaggery}.

Fellow bongs in the city! These sweets are going to take you straight down the nostalgia road, because the last time you probably had these was when you visited your mommy back home or even grandma. Hurry, only two days of this sweetness is going to be around!

When: Friday, January 13 - Sunday, January 15
