Summer is here and now is the best time to invest in those billowy dresses, anti-fit tops and pajamas that moonlight as trousers, made with breathable fabrics {think soft, soft cotton}, easygoing silhouettes and relaxed tailoring. And making your lives easier are we, with our picks of five spring summer collections by indie designers that we are currently lusting over.

Olio

This collection hasn’t launched yet, but from what we have been seeing on Olio’s Instagram feeds, we can’t wait for the Sunny Side Up line to hit the virtual shelves. Eggs done sunny-side-up patterned on a dress? Buttons in sunshine yellow against a grey tone? Yes please. And according to their Facebook page, the collection will launch this month.

These guys know how to do whites just right. The Summer House’s new collection The Convent {inspired by the nun’s white habit and the time spent at a boarding school} offers tops and dresses {our favourite is the free-flowing Sylvia} with accents such as piping, ruffles, cut-out sleeves, pleats, and gathers, all made out of pristine white 100 per cent organic cotton. What’s not to love!
