What Makes It Awesome?

The Sri Lankan Food Festival has commenced at Brew and Barbeque with Priya Bala (who is a chef, foodie and critic from Sri Lanka and residing in Bangalore) launching it with a special cooking session. The menu consists of appetizers, mains and desserts from the land as well as four curated cocktails that speak a culinary language from the rich culture.

Sri Lankan food offers a different array of flavours sweet caramelized onion relishes, bitter melon, spicy scraped coconut, and the burn of curry tamed by mild rice and palm sugar-sweetened desserts. Spices such as cloves, cardamoms, nutmeg and pepper are a highlight.

The menu consists of six starters consisting of the all the favourite deviled chicken and subtle beg cutlet. The highlight was the seeni sambol bun which had caramelized onion stuffed in a bun.

The Sri Lankan mains are incomplete without the Pumpkin curry and brew and barbeque ensures you get the right taste of it in this festival. Apart from this the chicken dark curry and brinjal moju are extremely delectable and not to be missed.

The desserts here give you the very halwa appeal.
Finally the cocktails are presented well with a fusion touch from the rich heritage and definitely kept us hooked to the land of serendipity.

The festival is there for a week and it's so unique, so don't miss it.
