Treat Your Kids to Stories about Textiles and Designing Fun at Atta Galatta

Ten-second takeaway

Let your little ones listen to delightful stories about fabric and designs, and learn a bit about textile techniques before trying their hand at tie-and-dye.

It's story time

Whether it is a floral print on their skirts or the motifs on your sarees, we know anything can set off your little tyke's imagination. How about then an enchanting session of storytelling {we do, too, in fact}. Giving in to this love for stories, The Common Thread - Stories from the Loom hosted by Atta Galatta brings together tales about textiles, designs and symbols. Storyteller Priya Muthukumar from Storipur {an initiative which uses interactive storytelling to build responsible communities through stories} will make sure your little ones are engaged as she narrates stories from around the world.

Li'l fashionistas at work

It’s not just going to be all tall tales, though. The event also includes a session by eco-fashion expert, Hansika Singh from EcoFolk {an organisation dedicated to creating awareness about conscious consumerism in India}. As she takes your kids through different textile techniques, they will also be indulging in a fun discussion on the concept of sustainable fashion. Oh, your moppets even get to turn designers with a spot of tie-and-dye and take home prettily-done scarves. We suggest then that you don't waste time before signing your kid up for this one.
