Ten-second takeaway

Vh1 Supersonic returns for another year in Goa, with a line-up including every one  from Arjun Vagale to Axwell and Kolsch. Plus, DJ Tuhin Mehta introduces us to the famed Awakenings stage.

Going supersonic

While you can argue that there is no best time to visit Goa, because after all, it is Goa, EDM addicts will certainly say that tomorrow is the best day to be there because of Vh1 Supersonic. Curated with the help of Nikhil Chinapa, this EDM festival is taking things to a new level this time around with three stages and music to last you the whole of 2016.

Headliners include Axwell {whom even non-EDM folk will jump up and down to hear}, Zedd and Disclosure. And while there’s plenty of international participation, what with Adam Beyer, Dutch fave Don Diablo and compatriot Bart Skils all making their way to sunny Candolim, there’s be home boys too with Arjun Vagale, Kohra, Lost Stories and even BLOT! bringing stellar audio visuals to the stage.

Techno awakening

But what we’re most excited about is that there is an Awakenings Stage. If you’re blinking in confusion  then let us explain. Essentially and quintessentially a global techno movement, Awakenings began way back in 1997 thanks to Rocco Veenboer and really set the bar for dance music festivals. So if you’re heading to this festival and more importantly the iconic Awakening stage, the DJ Tuhin Mehta suggests you catch the Drumcode’ takeover featuring Adam Beyer, Ida Engberg, Joris Voorn & Friends. Sticking around for the sunset set by Kölsch followed by Nic Fanciulli & Joris Voorn will only be a win-win situation for you, he tell us.
