Navigating the street food scene in the city just got easier with Talking Street, a food discovery platform.

When former marketing professional, Maheima Kapur was backpacking through Europe a few years ago, she realised how difficult it could be to find good eateries if you didn’t have locals from the area to guide you. Stumbling upon the same thought later, she came up with the idea for Talking Street. A city-based food discovery platform that’s all about street food, the website has a huge collection of informative posts on food joints across different cities {including Goa, Delhi and Mumbai, among others}, all curated by a local community of foodies.

Apart from concise posts with directions, descriptions and the best dishes on offer at a place, you’ll also find detailed ones; for instance, a piece on the best spots to check out at Malleswaram {some even featuring stories on the vendors}. So, no more trudging around your area, scouring for a great pani puri wala or vada pav place! We love that they feature hole-in-the-wall eateries and street food vendors along with some of the legendary, must-try restaurants in town.

Looking for some authentic snacks from Karnataka? Maheima suggests you check out outlets in the older parts of the city {think Basavanagudi or Jayanagar}.
