What Is It?

Love the idea of getting a curated dose of art, literature, poetry and music in your inbox everyday? That's just what you can expect when you sign up for The Alipore Post, a Kolkata-based project led and curated by former journalist Rohini Kejriwal. Taking this love for art and music beyond the online realm, the newsletter is all set for an offline weekend gathering, much to the delight of its fans in Bangalore. The Alipore Post Offline promises to be just as delightful as the daily newsletter, with two days of curated music performances, art exhibitions, poetry readings, movies, games, and food!

Who Is It For?

Subscribers of the newsletter hoping to connect and share their thoughts with fellow readers, art enthusiasts, music lovers, or anyone looking to have a chilled out weekend, this one brings together everything from art and music to grub and games. Hoping to learn something new? There are even workshops for painting, creating fictional comics, juggling and hooping to pick from.

Why Should I Go For It?

There's Mumbai-based artiste, Kumail and city-based musicians, Anand Vijayasimha and Mahesh Raghunandan to add some electronica and acoustic music to the weekend gathering. Vinyl enthusiasts, sign up for Drop The Needle, Social Offline's monthly session which will be hosted at The Alipore Post Offline. Gape at some quirky works by illustrators across the country, or go on and doodle something yourself with their array of art and craft materials. Once you're done browsing through the tomes at the pop-up bookstore by Goobe's Book Republic, check out the food stalls selling favourites such as chaat, momos, cotton candy and biryani. A room for movie screenings, a PoeTREE corner for poetry slams and readings, and a Nostalgia Room with old-school board games are also on the cards to keep you engaged.
