It’s Tiki time again with plenty of bar nibbles, tropical cocktails, quirky marinades to go with meaty steaks, and sliders that take up a few pages on the menu.
Island hopping
For the second time in this month alone, Bangalore opens its door to another Tiki-type restaurant and we’re clearly loving it! This time around, The Big Kahuna which brings in food, drinks and the lifestyle of exotic islands, arrives in Indiranagar. What better season than winter to have that tropical feel. Opening for the public today {excited, much?}, the menu is filled with bar nibbles, grills, sliders and sandwiches. Plus, pasta and a few sharing platters – both large and small. Leave room for steaks – chicken, salmon, and tenderloin, with all kinds of marinade, sauces and sides. A smattering of Asian {think curries, mainly} also weaves its way into the menu if you’re craving something spicy.
Rum diaries
Really get into the Hawaiian mood with rum-based cocktails, and if the Orion Mall property is anything to go by, we highly recommend the Scorpion Bowl. A concoction of rum, fruit juices, a hint of brand and almond, it’s great to share with a few more people to get the bon homie going. Tiki drinks are also on offer, and we’d pick the Honi Honi {Bourbon-infused} over and over. Of course, you could and probably should, sip on some coconut-based drinks or the strong ones loaded up with all kinds of rum, brandy and Curaçao.
